At Awesome Little Explorers, fun isn’t just the goal — it’s the gateway.

Our Soft Play & Café at Cape is more than a space for little ones to laugh, climb, and explore. It’s part of a bigger mission: every visit helps fund the six much-loved adventure playgrounds we manage across Islington. These playgrounds are free for all 6–13-year-olds living or going to school in the borough, ensuring that all children,  regardless of background, can enjoy safe, exciting, and imaginative play close to home.

When children play, they express who they are. At Awesome, we believe in letting them lead the way,  trying new things, testing their limits, or simply following their imagination. It’s why our spaces feel like theirs. In fact, our young adventurers even helped name us.

As a not-for-profit organisation, every penny of profit from Awesome Little Explorers goes straight back into maintaining and improving our adventure playgrounds. These are vital spaces,  not just for play, but for learning, growing, and building community. With the support of our passionate playworkers, we offer more than playtime: we provide safe spaces, new experiences, and a listening ear for some of Islington’s most vulnerable children and families.

We know that play is essential to healthy development,  it builds resilience, sparks creativity, and helps children connect with the world around them. That’s why we work hard to protect it. Because when you support Awesome, you’re helping make sure every child in Islington has access to the joy and freedom of play.
